My 10 Minutes of Fame

24 Feb

My best friend won tickets to the Oscar Gala in Kingston, and she is bringing me! We get to walk the red carpet, have our own paparazzi, drink champange, and live a glamorous night. We are watching the Oscars at the Grand Theatre in style. I’m so excited! Pics will be posted after the event Sunday 🙂

I’m not very lucky, but…

27 Jan

I just entered a trip for two to the 2012 Grammys! I’m usually not very lucky, but I really hope this time I win! I will be taking my best friend, and fellow Foo Fanatic Meggan ❤

All I can do now is wait and see what happens!

Lessons to be learned from Disney Princesses!

24 Jan

Sarah Forshaw's Blog

Well I was talking about all the Disney princess movies, with my mom and little sister today, and got to thinking about all of the morals I never noticed before. So I thought I might share them with you today!

1. Cinderella.

Moral: The right shoes really can change your life for the better! 😉

2. Sleeping Beauty

Moral: People who say “you are sleeping your life away” are straight up wrong! I mean Aurora found the love of her life just by sleeping 😉

Moral: Having a pet tiger is really cool!

4. Snow white

Moral: Accepting food from strangers is a serious no no!

5. Ariel

Moral: Guys are happy enough just to have you around…So you don’t even have to talk to him 😉

6. Pocahontas

Moral: Falling in love with Mel Gibson is never a good idea!

7. Belle

Moral: It is tough work trying to change…

I have this photo essay on the colour red, and I am torn on this one photo. I don’t know which one I like more, the darker one or the lighter one.

If you could let me know which one you like, I would appreciate it!

Thanks 🙂

Oscar Nominations!

24 Jan

The Oscar noms came out this morning and I was super excited. My friends and I predicted  the nominees and we were right about some of them:

Rooney Mara for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Viola Davis for The Help, George Clooney for The Descendants and Michelle Williams for My Week with Marilyn. Usually the Golden Globes are clues as to who will be nominated. I was really happy to see that Melissa McCarthy, Jessica Chastain, Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill were almost nominated. I have been watching the Academy Awards since I was 4, thanks to my grandma. Until I was about 7 or 8, I really never fully understood what was going on, and now I watch them religiously. I love the glitz and glam, the fashion, the speeches, the hosts (most of the time) and the winners. The feeling to win an Oscar must be indescribable, receiving the highest honor in the film industry by your peers.

I will be posting some of my projects and assignments so I can get some feedback from my followers. It would be great to know what people other than my professors think. I will try to make them not super boring, but sometimes the subject is :/ But most of them will be awesome 🙂

Glee Does Grease

19 Jan

Tuesday’s opening number of Glee was the one and only Summer Nights from the legendary Grease. The story of Mercedes and Sam having a summer fling was the perfect oppurtinity to sing the song. The cast did an awesome job, like they do with every song they sing. I am a huge fan of Glee and a self proclaimed Gleek, so when it comes to the show I can be a little biast.

Back to the song, I believe that they nailed it. The boys were rocking it T-Bird style and the girls and Kurt were singing like true Pink Ladies. Santana’s Rizzo behavior was perfect for her and both Santana and Rizzo are my favourite characters from both Glee and Grease. I love it when Glee does Broadway songs, musical theatre is where it surfaced from.

tell me more, tell me more!
